Research Technician

Job DescriptionThe Dada lab in the School of Life Sciences at ASU seeks to fill a Research Technician position.
This is a full-time fiscal year (12-months), benefits-eligible appointment for two (2) years.
We anticipate and encourage the incumbent's career progression after the 2-year period but will consider subsequent annual renewal based upon satisfactory performance, available resources, and the needs of the lab.
Research in the Dada lab broadly focuses on understanding how microbes shape mosquito biology and how this knowledge can be leveraged for mosquito and mosquito-borne disease control.
We study wild mosquito populations or their progeny under laboratory settings as well as laboratory strains to better understand the complex interactions occurring in natural settings.
We use classical entomological, molecular, 'omics, and bioinformatics tools to answer our research questions.
The Research Technician will play an integral role in supporting the Lab's research activities and this will encompass, maintaining laboratory organisms, assisting with research experiments and field work, as well as performing routine standard and specialized laboratory procedures.
This position is classified as a Staff position, due to this classification we are not able to sponsor any work visas.
All applicants must be qualified to work in the U.

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Four years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
