Loan Operations, Team QA Lead

Team QA Lead Summary This individual management responsibilities for a small team.
This team is responsible for the flow of work to the Quality Assurance team which reviews mortgage loans, commercial loans for clients across Northern Trust and participated loans with other banks.
The successful candidate provides exception/ escalation management received via workflows and other sources.
They will ensure complex reviews of activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
Major Responsibilities o Responsible for providing day to day assistance to Quality Assurance team with regard to training and problem solving.
o Briefs staff on a regular basis on issues relating to the work carried out by the team.
o Provides technical input to systems enhancements and manages systems testing.
o Responsible for weekly, monthly, quarterly data analytic reports.
o Ensures business continuity plans for the team are reviewed and ready to implement.
o Responsible for exception/escalation management received via workflows and other sources.
o Supports the team manager in ensuring operational efficiency.
o Carries out complex reviews of activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
o May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management.
o Technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas within loans.
o Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.
o Organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
o Conducts performance management and career development processes and staffing and disciplinary actions.
o Provides input and support to budget management process.
Qualifications o A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
o Related Industry qualification (e.
g.
ACCA) / or studying towards, is preferred.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
o Knowledge of the banking industry and related procedures is required.
o Analytical and problem solving skills are required Facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills are required.
o Working experience and knowledge of risk management and mitigation is required.
o Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
