Team Operations Lead

Description- Team Lead, Loan Operations:
Has day-to-day management responsibilities for a small team.
Responsible for the assignment of work to the Loan Ops team which services mortgage loans, commercial loans for clients across Northern Trust.
Responsible for exception/ escalation management received via workflows and other sources.
Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.
Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions.
Conducts performance management and career development processes.
Major Responsibilities oResponsible for providing day to day assistance to Loan Ops team with regard to training and problem solvingoBriefs staff on a regular basis on issues relating to the work carried out by the teamoProvides technical input to systems enhancements and manages systems testingoEnsures business continuity plans for the team are reviewed and ready to implement oResponsible for exception/escalation management received via workflows and other sources oSupports the team manager in ensuring operational efficiencyoCarries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impactoMay have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior ManagementoMore technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areasoAble to facilitate discussions and reach decisionsoOrganizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the workoConducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actionsProvides input and support to budget management process.
QualificationsoA College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience is preferred.
oRelated Industry qualification (e.
g.
ACCA) / or studying towards, is preferred Excellent oral and written communication skills are requiredoKnowledge of the banking industry and related procedures is requiredoAnalytical and problem solving skills are required Facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills are requiredoWorking experience and knowledge of risk management and mitigation is requiredoLeadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
