Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Unit Controller will provide comprehensive support in all areas of accounting and human resources functions. Areas of support will include accounts payable and receivable, cash control, forecasting/budgeting, hiring, payroll processing, data reporting, paperwork administration, and recordkeeping.

The Unit Controller will work closely with the respective Regional Controller to serve as a strategic business partner to ensure high quality Accounting administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES

ACCOUNTING
Prepare the financial statements according to the Policies and Procedures, generally accepted accounting principles and the Uniform System of Accounts.
Ensure that all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits, identifying variances, and making recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the General Manager.
Ensure all invoices are sent to clients in a timely manner.
Ensure all Accounts Receivables & Payables are processed in an efficient manner.
Prepare timely and accurate sales and other external reports as necessary.
Maintain effective system and control procedures.
Ensure integrity and efficiency of computerized data processing functions.
Maintain systems, procedures, controls and staff in cash room.
Perform weekly audit of safe counts in terminal(s).
Analyze financial statements for areas of profit improvement and recommends action.
Ensure data provided to the regional and corporate offices is accurate and timely
Assist in annual budget with input for GM/Regional Controller.
Provide monthly/quarterly forecasts.
Ensure that all cash handling and inventory procedures are followed.
Coordinate/execute weekly and monthly closing
Process payroll using UltiPro
Process employee health and pension payments
Ensure requests and reviews for internal and/or external audits are submitted in a timely manner
Ensure that union dues and deductions are accurate and current


OTHER GENERAL DUTIES
Provide administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information, organizing work, answering the telephone, relaying messages, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Ensure execution of other initiatives as directed by Manager or required by Company
Perform other Accounting related duties and administrative responsibilities as needed.

Food service/restaurant experience (preferred)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
