The DBA will administrator our enterprise database solutions and will routinely work with vendors, project managers, system administrators, application developers and end users in order to maintain and improve the performance of our servers, databases and applications.
MUST HAVE:
Education
Bachelor Degree (EE, CS, etc.)
Certifications/Key
Experience:
o Microsoft SQL Server Certification (Required)
o Oracle DBA Certification (Desired)
Technical Skills & Responsibilities
Ten (10) years of Microsoft SQL Server administration experience
Follows, defines and manages enterprise level policies and procedures that ensure the security, optimization and integrity of SQL Server (and potentially Oracle) database environments
Designs, implements and maintains physical and logical database solutions
Anticipates and resolves database performance, capacity and replication issues
Fully capable of programming and database performance tuning using SQL, triggers and stored procedures
Understands standard concepts, practices and procedures relating to database and associated technologies
Manages database backup & recovery procedures, disaster recovery preparation and the associated exercises
Produces reports on database systems related to availability, performance, capacity management and SLAs
Collaborates with SAN, server, applications and operational staff in support of database objectives
Assist development staff with application design and efficient use of database technology
Supports project plans and schedules relative to database requirements
NICE TO HAVE:
Strong scripting skills (SQL, Perl, etc.)
Strong understanding of server, SAN and networking technologies
Ability to effectively multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong general knowledge of operating systems, storage and overall system design and managementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
