Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, this position provides reference support and bibliographic instruction for students, faculty, employees, and other patrons of the University Library.
Primary Accountabilities

Digital Collection Development:
1.Participates in the design and implementation, as well as maintains operational plans for library database collections. This includes working with the University Librarian, faculty, and staff to plan goals and objectives to provide efficient and effective services to students, faculty, employees, and other-related patrons.
2.Identifies and evaluates information resources for library inclusion.
3.May assist in the negotiation of library agreements to ensure compliance with federal and state agencies and accrediting bodies.
Reference Services:
reference assistance to meet the unique needs of each user group through varying forms of communication.
2.Establishes and maintains service goals for all reference services. Processes reference service requests within established guidelines.
3.Identifies emerging issues and trends involving the delivery of distance reference services.
Information Literacy:
with students, faculty, and staff to expand the role of the University Library in conjunction with the educational mission and standards of the organization.
2.Designs instructional materials for students, staff, faculty, and other library users.

4.Participates in outreach to develop college and campus partnerships.
5.Plans and organizes library involvement in key student events.
6.Identifies emerging issues and trends in information literacy delivery.
7.May include supervision of support staff or beginning Librarians.
Technical Services:
1.Responsible for the identification, implementation, management, and support of technologies that enhance the Library's ability to deliver digital services and collections. Uses on-line tools to manage Library technologies and services.
2.Works with corporate information technology staff to create and maintain the University Library's digital space.
3.Identifies emerging issues and trends in information delivery and access.
All Positions:
1.Maintains professional and technical knowledge of library and information science by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
2.May include supervision of support staff including but not limited to beginning Librarians.
3.Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university.
Proven experience working with reference materials and internet accessible electronic library databases.
Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing internet protocols.
Proven knowledge and experience of adult education practices, curriculum, trends, and technologies preferred.
Must be able demonstrate a high level of conceptual thinking to participate in the development and implementation of operational plans, as well as design and deliver instructional materials as they relate to the University Library services.
Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with students, faculty, employees, and other patrons to explain and provide reference support and bibliographic instruction of the University Library, as described above.
Must have a working knowledge of personal software packages to prepare correspondence, as well as create and generate spreadsheets and reports, as described above.
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited college or university.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
