Department Overview
The Executive Dean's office within the School of Advanced is responsible for the academic and financial success of the school. The Dean's office works collaboratively across operations, marketing and academics to provide evidenced-based strategies for our curriculum, faculty and campuses (online and residency) to be a recognized as a leader in doctorate level education and to promote principles and values that encourage students to become efficient and effective leaders in industry.
Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, this position plans, manages and coordinates activities of designated project(s) associated with the development, evaluation, editing, and internal operations of University academic programs and/or product lines.
Primary Accountabilities
Specific Responsibilities
Provide a direct point of contact for faculty in the day-to-day administration of multiple research funding programs
Manage online workflow of the intake, review, awarding, and tracking of research studies, including contracting and follow-up of funded studies
Produce regular reports on faculty research activity
Communicate directly with faculty regarding research and scholarship
Supports faculty teaching and career development by supporting internal grants for faculty scholarship. Works with the Office of Scholarship Support to support faculty planning with regard to research and scholarship.
Support the ongoing education and development of dissertation chairs through the University Research Centers
Provide dissertation chair outreach related to research and scholarship
Provide a direct point of contact for faculty for scholarship programs and Research Centers
Assist in the management of university scholarship related committees
Work as part of a team to strategize around ongoing maturity and future development of research centers

Generic Responsibilities
Develops and monitors a work plan and budget for internal and external research grant projects. Manages activities of project to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
Articulates University and program policies, practices, standards, and philosophy, as well as profiles for program markets to the administrative team and faculty leadership.
Contributes to research and grant project tracking and management issues.
Evaluates materials during development and upon submission by faculty to ensure conformance with established policies, practices and standards. Manages activities related to Grant identification, package preparation, and submission.
Researches, analyzes and formulates recommendations for continuous improvement in research funding related processes. Presents research findings and recommendations to management and/or scholarship review committee as needed or requested.
Prepares corporate and campus personnel for implementation of funding opportunities by advising on available opportunities for research funding an support.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of University product lines, policies, practices, standards, and philosophy.
Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Able to demonstrate experience in a business, administrative, or higher education environment performing project management activities.
Able to demonstrate a sufficient level of analytical and strategic thinking to plan and manage designated projects to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget, as described above.
Able to demonstrate excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate and explain University and program policies, practices, standards, and philosophy, as described above.
Able to demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present research findings, projects, and recommendations to management.
Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of personal software packages to perform word processing activities, as well as create and generate spreadsheets. Must be results oriented and able to organize and independently manage various projects simultaneously.
Basic Qualifications
A thorough knowledge of English, communications, technology, education, and/or business administration as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in English, communications, technology, education, business administration, or related field.
Additional Qualifications
Master's degree preferred
Proven experience dealing with faculty in a research related capacity preferred
Proven experience with grant funding preferred

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
