Electrician
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Industrial / Facility / Semiconductor Electrician:
install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities:
factories, businesses and other places that pull more power and have more complex systems.
Make sure that electrical systems are safe and running efficiently, and may have to repair large electrical equipment, like industrial fans, large motors, or control systems.
Install and test new equipment and systems, and come to repair or maintain older, pre-existing systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Troubleshooting:
Industrial electricians must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions. Within all aspects of their electrical trade 12VDC to 480V AC.
Customer Service:
Industrial electricians often work for many different customers, and must be friendly when working on site.
Critical Thinking:
When diagnosing problems, industrial electricians must think critically in their process of repairing the issue.
Mechanical Skills:
Industrial electricians read blueprints and schematics and use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install electrical parts. Plus the use of basic hand tools to complete any task or job.
Life Safety / Fire System:
know the basic functionality and devices that make up a complex fire/life safety system, Noti-Fire Network 3030 (Fire Life Safety System)
BAS:
Building Automation System, know the basic controls systems and the ability to trouble shoot low voltage controls, also know how to use this system in trouble shooting extended issue or problems with in the facility. Knowledge of ladder logic and other control logic processors. The ability to work with Systems Engineers on adding or manipulating the Yokogawa (critical systems) / JC Metesys (HVAC) / Rockwell
Automation (Ultra-Pure Water Plant). Need to have the ability and knowledge to work with the engineers of each system in a professional and competent manner.
Work not just in their trade but the ability to cross train and learn from other JLL team member trades.
Learn and complete all preventive maintenance task assigned, in a timely and professional manner.
Work safely and ensure the safety of yourself and everyone around you; LOTO (lock out tag out), JSA (job safety analysis)
Work independently or as part of a team.
Your role and responsibilities are not just limited to the above bullets but are an outline of how the position of electrician plays a key role within the JLL maintenance team. You are expected to not just meet these requirements but to excel in them.
