Quality Control Manager

BASIC FUNCTION
Manages and coordinates activities and operations of quality control
Responsible for the execution of quality within the Tempe, AZ facility
Reports to Tempe site leader
Manages team of 2
quality coordinators
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates with other managers, peers, and associates within the facility and within the product teams to identify critical success factors, develop measurement systems, and implement continuous process improvement methodologies.
Reports out the site quality metrics, hold the weekly quality reviews, and facilitates discussion on corrective actions to resolve or escalate trending quality issues.
Responsible to report up details on quality performance and actions from the site in Operations quality reviews
Develops and implements quality control and training system and processes
Serves as the contact for site escalations as it pertains to quality related process installation, process, changes, and site product activities.
Responsible for SFLY quality system representation during SBS Customer / Corporate audits.
Executes requirements established by the Product Quality Engineer (in the product teams) for variable sampling, statistical control, and risk-based control planning.
Responsible for site process level Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA / CAR / 8D process)
Participates in activities related to control and checks.
Implements and documents auditor training to support internal site audit function (done by the Quality Coordinators).
Designs, develops, and implements comprehensive quality control and training programs of quality tools and processes.
Maintains, enforces, and measures quality control and training processes of activities and employees.
Responsible for site quality product performance, standard work adherence, and continuous improvement efforts.
Reviews and evaluates products to correct deficiencies and formulate improvements.
Assists with the planning and implementation of new processes and/or products; monitors progress and evaluates results; recommends changes or other action as appropriate.
Coordinates internal inspection of site quality control processes
Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops quality control and training staff; manages schedules and workflow for quality coordinators.
Assigns duties and monitors quality of work
Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance.
Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
Conducts performance reviews for quality coordinators.
Coordinates priorities with associated managers and peers.
Has the responsibility to perform required tasks to ensure all provisions of quality control and training are met.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in the applicable area of engineering/technical specialization.
Understanding of 8D, RCCA, or Corrective Action processes
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) Engineering, Quality, or equivalent technical degree preferred.

years related experience or equivalent.
