Principal IT Business Intelligence Analyst

SVB Information Management team has an immediate need for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Business Intelligence Lead. The Principal BI Lead is a techno functional leadership position and is responsible for the design, build, and deployment of the information and reporting solutions. This position is highly visible to the enterprise, a person in this role will work closely with end users for given business vertical to gain a full understanding of their needs. The Principal Business Intelligence Analyst designs the application, ensuring that the end-user requirements gathered during the requirements definition phase are accurately met by the final build of the application. In most cases, the person works with front-end Business Intelligence tools, including Tableau, Business Objects among others.
Responsibilities
Working with business users to establish the business need, requirements and define appropriate solutions.
Scoping the solution by providing a clear, accurate and workable solution
Devising and delivering appropriate BI architectures and technical solutions to meet business needs and requirements.
Ability to build and unit test against specifications.
Ability to Design, develop, code, test, debug and document applications using BO, Tableau and other supporting tools to satisfy requirements of user areas
Requirements management and high level design.
Detailed analysis and design.
Specification for construction by yourself or another team member.
Research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations
Establish auditing procedures to ensure data integrity
Responsible for on-time delivery of high-quality code
System test planning and system test execution.
Support QA phase by tracking and assigning defects to development team; work with QA leads to schedule fixes and builds and enable QA to be successful
Identify ways to increase efficiency of production support - Find solutions that allow operations to better do their job without involving development resource time.
Participate in the definition of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Operational Data Stores (ODS) and subject data marts that perform well and meet the user expectations. Works with other team members, including DBA's, ETL developers, Technical Architects, and Business Analysts Mentoring and Coaching of more junior members in Information Management team.
Skills and Requirements:
Experience
Bachelor's Degree with 7
years' experience in Tableau and or SAP Business Objects XI
Experience in Query Designer, Web Designer, and Report Designer, BO Web Intelligence, crystal reports and dashboards
Experience in data design and modeling, ETL processing, Enterprise/Web Reporting, Query analysis and development.
Deep data modeling experience or an understanding if financial services or banking business process.
Proficiency with front-end, business intelligence tools like QlikView, ThoughtSpot and other leading BI or Visualization tools is a bonus.
Solid understanding of metadata concepts and data warehouse and data mart models. Data Warehouse development may be part of the job, but understanding of the models is a mandatory req
