Job SummaryThe Accounting Center of Excellence (Accounting CoE) Assistant Vice President will assist with building a new team in the Phoenix area and will report to the Accounting CoE Director and Business Unit Controller, within the Controllers & Tax Services (CTS) group.
CTS reports to the CFO.
In the near term, the Assistant Vice President will create a program to identify the accounting processes across the institution to bring into the group including staffing needs to support.
In the longer term, the Accounting CoE will implement accounting processes within enterprise-wide projects, which likely include new accounting standard implementation, new products & services, and audit and regulatory issue resolution.
You will work in a dynamic environment, lead daily activities within the CoE and provide the CoE Director with accounting expertise and strong project management skills.
This role will also allow you the ability to develop a team culture and a collaborative working environment.
You will adeptly partner with internal (business lines, senior leadership, internal audit, etc.
) and external (auditors, regulators, vendors, prospective employees) stakeholders, gain leadership experience and help develop staff so that they are able to act when requirements are ambiguous or evolving.
Major ResponsibilitiesDevelop the Accounting Center of ExcellenceAssist with recruiting, onboarding and training Accounting CoE staffDevelop Accounting CoE operational policies and proceduresEstablish Accounting CoE processes to support primary business objectivesAssist with designing organizational roles to support processesDevelop key performance indicators and quality measures to evaluate process performance, risk-based process monitoringDevelop control framework to mitigate risksEstablish cross-functional partnershipsProvide integrated accounting solutions, high-quality accounting adviceEmbody the CTS cultural principles when interacting with partnersDevelop and maintain relationships with external partners including auditors, regulators, vendors, contractors, etc.
Assist the institution with its professional development efforts, and inspire cross-functional training to cultivate client-centered process, products and servicesMentor CoE and other staff to support personal and professional development, community involvementBecome a trusted accounting advisor to implement integrated accounting solutions for organizational initiatives and support internal partnersOrganizational initiatives are likely to include implementation of accounting processes for new products and services, acquisition accounting process integrations, support for organizational transformation programs, and other internal innovation projectsEducation:
Accounting or finance degree (BA, BS, and/or Masters)CPAs (or CPA-eligible) preferred, but not requiredYou have 3
years prior experience in financial services and/or accounting-related roles.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
