Overview:
During the 2008 financial crisis, banks around the world faced significant challenges in aggregating, understanding, and reporting risk exposures and concentrations in a complete, timely and accurate manner.
In response to this, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) released 11 principles (BCBS 239) which act as guidelines designed to drive enhancement of banks abilities to rapidly generate accurate and comprehensive risk information and reports (both internal and regulatory) to support risk oversight functions, risk management, and crisis resolution.
Grouped in 3 pillars:
1) Governance and Infrastructure, 2) Data Aggregation, and 3) Reporting Processes, the 11 principles guide Governance, Data Architecture and IT Infrastructure, Accuracy and Integrity, Completeness, Timeliness, Adaptability, Accuracy, Comprehensiveness, Clarity and Usefulness, Frequency, & Distribution.
The Chief Data Office is working with Risk & Finance and our many business partners to address the 11 BCBS 239 principles that are directed at banks.
MUFG Data Management Delivery and Portfolio Management group is a newly formed team within the Chief Data Office for the Americas.
This position will join the Data Management Delivery and Portfolio Management team and play a critical role in designing end-to-end business solutions for the Chief Data Office Risk Reports.
This will include the creation, socialization, and validation of comprehensive end to end business solution design documents and defining the supporting principles that align BCBS 239 Principles and our target state enterprise data management architecture.
This role is an individual contributor reporting to a Director.
Major
Responsibilities:
Ensure alignment with BCBS 239 Principles and our target state enterprise data management architecture.
Identify key controls and inputs needed to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Identify key considerations, including Target Operating Model design and Technology considerationsCreate, socialize and validate future state design flowsApply business days sequencingDefine process areas for alignment based on business solution design patterns, review decision criteria with key stakeholders and align activitiesLead activities to create, socialize and validate supporting design principles and critical path for processes and reports identifiedPartner with key stakeholders to develop a timeline to close any design gaps in target state processes.
Identify and document any temporary processes required to stand up interim operating models prior to migrating to target states.
Lead meetings, facilitate resolution of differing views and document and summarize findings and recommendations, where neededHelpful experience for this role will include:
Managing large scale process improvement/re-engineering projects designed to drive change.
Ability and confidence to challenge the status quo.
History of defining process performance targets, project timelines, milestones, tracking and reporting, and collaboration with senior leadership.
Good time management / organizing also required as this role will need to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
Proven ability to solicit, define and deliver Business Requirements.
Works in a systematic project management delivery processDefines Creative Solutions to meet business needs.

Qualifications:
A BA/BS degree from a 4-year college in a related field or equivalent work experienceOverall 7
years of work experience with 5
years of experience in finance, process improvement, project management, program management, process re-engineering.
Banking industry experience and knowledge of banking organization, operations and technology to drive business solution design enhancements.
Advanced systems knowledge with strong capabilities in Visio, PPT and Excel (including Pivots and VLOOKUP)Strong stakeholder management experience and ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization, and be viewed as a team playerAbility to be a business partner who can influence and garner support from cross-functional teammates.
Strong presentation skills; ability to present to large groups and to senior managementAbility to develop and maintain long-term positive working relationships with peers, subordinates, and senior managementExcellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences; confident communicator and presenterStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust demonstrate ability to multi-task and be flexible.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
